john cook
Professor John Cook is Director, Technology Systems, with International
Risk Intelligence LLC. He has been working with technology for
over 30 years. He has worked with mainframe, client-server, and
web technologies including database functionality and data-driven
websites. He has taught courses ranging from insurance-industry
certification preparation to web development. He is currently an
adjunct Professor in the Information Technologies department at County
College of Morris, specializing in designing for the Internet. He
also serves as a Faculty Fellow in CCM’s Teaching/Learning Technology
Center where he helps other faculty members integrate technology
into their courses. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cook was a programmer
analyst and IT manager for Prudential Insurance Company, during which
time he also earned FLMI, CLU, and ChFC insurance
certifications. He was a project manager for DMR Consulting
Group,
a senior programming analyst at Computer Horizons, and a software
engineer for Data Critical Corporation. Currently, he does web and
database development as well as technical training for 2e
Technology. Mr.
Cook graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in German Language,
was trained as a Russian Linguist, and served in Europe in the U.S.
Air Force Security Service, under the National Security
Agency (NSA). His
educational background also includes graduate work in Computer Science
at New Jersey Institute of Technology, an Advanced Web Programming
certificate from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a certificate
in Data-driven Website Development from Rutgers University.
