Professor Joan Cook is Director, Education Technologies, with International
Risk Intelligence LLC. She has over 30 years experience
in education and technology. As a Professor at County College
of Morris teaching
psychology, web design, and academic strategies, she has developed
strong skills in instructional design and educational technology
through the integration of these disciplines, and has pioneered a
variety of highly-successful innovative techniques. Currently, she
also assists other faculty and staff at CCM with technology/education
issues in her role as Director of the Center for Teaching
Excellence and the Teaching/Learning
Technology Center. In
addition, she has served on many technology committees at the college
and has presented
at numerous conferences throughout the region. As the founder and
former director of the Center for Academic Support and Enrichment at
CCM, Professor Cook expanded her expertise in the area of teaching/learning
styles and the use of technology to facilitate learning. Professor
Cook has developed and taught online courses at the college, and
she has created interactive multimedia, companion websites, and companion
CD-ROMs for major publishers (Pearson, McGraw Hill, Allyn & Bacon).
She has experience working as a web developer for business solutions
firms (M.F. Smith & Associates and Cohn Consulting Group) and
has developed e-learning modules for industry training and education
purposes. Her educational background includes a BA in Psychology
from the University of Delaware, an MA in Psychology
from Temple
University, and a Webmaster Certificate from the New
Jersey Institute of Technology.
